Why would I post a blurry picture of Molly and Sir? Because this is how VaRonica and I are used to seeing them. Constantly together, side by side (or Sir following closely behind) and loving each other like best friends do. This is the most clear pic I got of them together today….Enjoy the in focus flowers….I believe the flowers are Indian Paintbrush.

That’s right. My best friend and I hamming it up for the camera. We went to the Uintahs today and had a good time baby…..We got plenty of cool temps, awesome conversation and a hella good time with just us girls (and we allowed Sir Winston Little, the only male among us, to tag along…of course!) I took tons of photos of the dogs….again. They are just such awesome beautiful creatures to behold. To my beloved friends…you can download any of these pics by clicking on the pic and hitting the all sizes button. From there you can download the pic in original size for you personal collection.

Love you all so much….I promise to stop being such a unicorn!

Today was Sir’s first big boy hike. He will be year old in a couple of weeks. He kept up like a trooper (and slept all the way home!)

This is the first time I have ever had a ground garden. I usually have a planter or two, but we had a little plot that seemed garden sized and we went for it. There are some pics on flickr of how huge some of the plants are getting. i also pulled a zucchini out of the garden today. You can see me holding it to get a grasp of its size. My zucchini plant is freaking huge. I took pics of Molly standing next to it so you could get an idea. Also, first time I’ve ever planted corn and it is looking good. Just wanted to share some pics of my private paradise…..

In peace

So, I am nervous as hell, but excited at the same time. Tonight, 6 pm SLC time on KRCL radioactive I will be interviewed along with a professor from the U, Lisa Diamond, about the sexualization of women in the media. I am praying I don’t make an ass of myself….pray along with me please….

If you would like to listen, join in. If you are out the 801 listening area you can hear a live stream from their website or through iTunes. Just google KRCL radioactive and you will get the homepage.

So, here it goes. My mouthy feminist self finally getting my 15 minutes on community radio……

Peace out!

Solar Powered DJ 1

Originally uploaded by bukowskigrl.

The Saturday Farmers Market at Pioneer Park, here in SLC, is one of my favorite parts of summer. Either alone, or with some good girlfriends, i love to walk around and enjoy the creativity and local feel of the produce and art. Last week, however, I was introduced to the debut of the solar powered dj. Yes folks, this DJ booth is completely solar powered and it was loud. The speakers on the front provided ample sound to the cover the park (a square city block) and it is completely solar powered. This is hitched to the back of the guys pick-up and he arrives. I just think this is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. Being a tree-huger and lover of the earth, I think this rocks. For one more pic, close-up, click on the link to the flickr account. Peace out!
